How did it become August 11th already? I slept like crap last night...Saylor is better but she was up moving around last night. We have a pocket door between the main part of the cabin and the bathroom/bedroom that we have been closing to keep her from roaming. When Saylor is up, I am up because it's my side of the bed. Jason took her out around 3:30 am, I opened a window then we both slept hard til my alarm went off at 6:45 a.m.
We walked across the way to have a big breakfast at iHop. Thanks to Mac & Sam, for introducing our kids last month during our visit. We figured a big breakfast full of protien would hold us over and skip lunch. Then we hit Starbucks for fuel...first visit there this whole trip. So proud of ourselves! Lol! We used to drink Starbucks bi-weekly but we've discovered I have an allergy to the syrup flavors. So I have given it up for the most part. Lily and I ducked into Walmart for bottled water & then we were on the road. All day on the road, stopping only for fuel and for Jason to use the facilities! Didn't even stop for dinner. An advantage while Jason was driving, I walked to the back to make a sandwich for him. We passed the Cadallic Ranch in TX and just happened to get off for a break at the VW Ranch along Route 66. Have you heard of those? Jason didn't want to see his beloved VW Beattles in the ground.
We drove a whopping 715 miles today. Kind of started to look for a campground a little late, so Walmart it is.
Oh another note, thanks to Nana, the kids were able to find out who their teachers are for the school year. Lists were posted on the school doors Monday afternoon. Lily is super happy because her 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Agona, moved to 5th grade with her class. Lily has her for home room, most likely for math, and will switch teachers for Language Arts. Charlie got wonderful 1st grade teachers, yes teachers, he has two this yea, Mrs. Michael & Mrs. Nefzer. Mrs. Michael has had a grant to teach a special reading program to a select group of students, so Mrs. Nefzer teaches the class the rest of the time. I went to high school with Mrs. Michael and we have been friends since 1st grade. Lily also had some one on one time with Mrs. Nefzer last year which is reassuring to is that the boy will be in good hands;)
