Not a ton to report today. Just driving through L.A. and the east part of California to Williams, Arizona. We drove a total of 565 miles and it took us about 10 hours.
We are staying at the Grand Canyon Railways Hotel & RV Park. Williams, AZ is right along Route 66! Very cool. It's about an hour South of the South Rim. The RV park is pretty nice, all paved sites, secured shower house and laundry, grills and picnic pavilion as well as a large community fire pit. Across the street is the hotel with pool & spa, restaurant and playground. There is the Grand Canyon Railway that takes you right to the South Rim and would have been fun to do if we didn't already have the Jeep. Once we got set up for the night, had an easy dinner of pasta, meatballs, and breadsticks, we did head over to the hotel to swim for a little bit. Tomorrow we will explore the big ditch as Jason calls it.
Thanks so much for everyone's comments, texts, emails. So happy that everyone is following us along our journey. It's been fun and exciting in close quarters. As we had dinner tonight, we did reflect on the 3+ weeks we have been gone. Everything has gone smoothly, the excursions, the drives, sights, food, work! We have been thrilled to have a generous opportunity from the Tilton's to use the RV. After having a small sailboat when we were first married, then the 40' houseboat, and now using this...we LOVE the RV and think this is the way to go. Even though I was raised boating at Atwood Lake, after 4 years of having the houseboat, we were bored of it. We've always loved to travel, taking 3-6 trips a year, and have decided, this is definitely the way to see the country. Thank you Mac & Sam!
