Day 19

August 3

Not much to report today. We ventured out around noon to try a few new wineries & have a picnic, just like last Sunday. We first went to Foley Vineyards. It's just outside of Buellton towards Lompoc.  They also now own Firestone & Curtis, sister winery to Lincort. Loved their tasting room, nice and big. Wish I would have snapped more pictures. Lily and Charlie picked two large leather chairs to sit in, got the game Headbands out if their activity bag & promptly started to play. The server said, "I have never seen more well behaved children!" Well "Thank you!" Love that they can just hang and not be loud.  Really good wine at Foley, just out of our price range. I don't think anything was below $40 a bottle!

Beach on Saturday =Wine Tasting Sunday

I did get the boy's picture on this old tractor.

Then we went to Lincourt which is closer to Los Olivos. It was beautiful! They had wood fire pizzas and pitchers of Sangria for $20, live music and great outdoor seating with tasting. We had our lunch there. Believe it or not, it was 92 & there was some humidity like home. They were all freakin' out and Jason and I kept saying "it's actually not that bad." Lol! Not compared to Ohio or Georgia, right Mac & Sam?
Very pretty landscape.
Somehow, I ended up with Lily's hat on.

Then we headed to Cambria. We're in the wine club so might as well enjoy some free tastings. Kids were a but more on top of us here but the tasting room wasn't busy.

The Processing. So interesting, these days they are using stainless steel barrels, oak barrels, a mix of both, corks, screw tops. We even had a wine at Lincort that had a hint if jalapeƱo smell to it. Crazy! How do they do that?

Had yummy lemon grilled chicken and salad for dinner and a small camp fire that night. Night ended a little early when Lily fell off her scooter and skinned both palms of her hands pretty bad. Lots of tears but she survived.
