And we're off...

Day 1: July 16

We couldn't leave for our trip without celebrating out girl's birthday! Happy 9th birthday Lily. She wanted to eat at Tim's Tavern (fish her favorite of course) before we left town with her Nana & Papa. Cousin Cate joined us for dinner too.

After dinner, Nana, Papa and Cate watched us pull out of the neighborhood & made sure we got off to a safe start.
About the RV: it's a National TropiCAL, 37 feet long and has 3 slide outs when parked (which means the cabin area becomes very comfortable). For those of you who have seen the houseboat we had, this is soo much nicer. I'll post some interior photos later.

We were a little worried about how a Saylor would do. The interior floor of the RV is a a slick vinyl and her back legs are getting very weak these days. We laid rugs down for her & Jason has to carry/help her up & down the steps. But after the first few minutes she laid down right between our seats and slept til Midnight.

Kids got in their Pjs as were leaving the driveway at 7:15 pm, we turned a movie on in the bedroom and they were both asleep by 9:45. We moved them to their sleeping spots when we pulled over for the night.

We drove 252 miles and stopped at a Walmart parking lot in Sturgis, MI. On I-90, Indiana is to the South & MIchigan was to the North. Thought the kids could add one more state to their list;) yes, I did say walmart parking lot. Did you know you could stay there over night?

Disclaimer: all photos taken with trusty iphone
States driven through: Ohio, Indiana, Michigan just because
