The kids and I were feeling the need to taste the salty sea air and get out of Buellton. Monday we drove North about an hour to Avila Beach. We love this area, especially on Friday nights when they have a street fair. The beach is nice and wide, in a little cove. Last year, whales were spotted as they traveled South. I would have given anything to see that! The Central Coast is not very warm. While we were up in Monterey, the sea was only 55 degrees. This area could not have been warmer than 65 degrees and my crazy kids ran right in!
It is always a good day at the beach but to top it off....swings!
We completed the afternoon with snow cones from the local food cart and a little shopping at a store right off the beach. The kids spent their own vacation money purchasing boogie boards.
