We are headed out of Ohio today! What did we forget? Jason worked half a day, and we left around 11:30 a.m. The plan was to drive to Effingham, IL. Our goal today and the next two is just to drive. We have not real plans to stop and sight see anywhere, other than possbily stopping by the Cadillac Ranch in Texas. Remember when we stopped by the VW Ranch two years ago? When we arrived at our campground for the night, it was after hours and they did not have our reservation in the late arrival, so we took it as a sign to keep driving in the day light hours. We made it to Eureka, Missouri, 580 miles from home. The kids were already asleep in the bunks when we pulled into the Walmart for the night. It's free, has security cameras and we did not have to unhook the jeep, which saves time in the morning. Asleep by 11 p.m. Central time.

Day 2
Eureka, Missouri to Amarillo, TX. We traveled 14 hours, 740 miles.
We only stopped 3 times for fuel and to eat lunch. It was very windy driving so Jason stayed at the wheel. We traveled through Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas. I so wanted to drive to Pawhuska and visit with the Pioneer Woman, and go visit my friend Blake Shelton, but that will have to wait. Since the camp ground didn't work out last night, I called and made a reservation at the

Oasis RV Resort on the West side of Amarillo. It was 100 degrees today so plugging into the electric to run the air condition was a must. $35 for the night and it was a nice place. It's right down the street from the Cadillac Ranch.
Even though it was almost 9 p.m. when we arrived, I took the kids to swim for 20 minute while Jason hooked up the power and water/sewer. Straight out of a scene from the movie RV with Robin Williams, our black tank hose busted on Jason as he was dumping the tank. Yep, you heard me...sewer running all over the ground, on Jason's feet. He was not happy and we walked away as quickly as we could. Lol.
