2016: Trial Run at Salt Fork

We have spent the last two weeks prepping the RV, getting to know the systems, and wanted to take it for a test run overnight. I'm sure we forgot a whole list of things.  We stayed pretty close to home and went to Salt Fork State Park, which is only 1 hour away.
Jason is pretty darn good driving this big rig!
The weather was pleasant, 65ish and only rained (hard) Saturday night for 20 minutes or so. There was a surprising amount of people camping that weekend.
Here we are all set up for the first time.  We took the Jeep because the park is so big, we wanted to explore. Jason and I have always had Jeeps.  Two years ago, we bought this Jeep Wrangler, for fun really.  This is my fourth Jeep I have had since I was 24, and I think Jason's third.  We figured we wanted to purchase a motor coach ourselves and Wranglers just tow so easy. It has been fun to have and upgrade.
Llewsie getting some field time on Saturday  morning.

Unfortunately, our hiking plans changed. Miss Lily got put in an air cast boot this week.  She's been having foot pain and we found out that she's literally growing too fast, it's called Sever's Disease.  Her muscles and tendons are having a hard time keeping up with her growth.  Hopefully, a few weeks in the boot and she'll feel better.  We still drove all around the state park exploring.  Here is the Stone House built in 1840, before the lake.

Good clean fun with the neighbor camper kids.
We headed home Sunday, mid-morning. We were not but 2 miles North on I-77, when we had a huge pop. We pulled over, went out to check & the inside back tire blew! There are dual rear tires on both sides. Thank goodness we have a roadside RV assistance and within 90 minutes we had a service there with a new tire. The program pays for the service call and the miles for the service to find you. We were talking about how glad this happened here, close to home, and not out in the middle of a Big Horn Pass in Wyoming ( the middle of no where)!

The tires barely have 5000 miles on them so Jason took it to Goodyear and they are testing it. If it's faulty, we will get some kind of reimbursement back to cover the cost of this expensive tire!  Not exactly how I wanted to be spending my Mother's Day. But we are all safe and not hurt, so it was totally fine.
All and all, our "forgot" was pretty small, we got to try out our new beds & we arrived home in plenty of time to celebrate Mother's Day with the Lenharts!
Charlie made me this cute heart shaped necklace for his Mama.
