2016: Hocking Hills

September 9-11 Hocking Hills State Park

This was a good close weekend trip. 160 miles one way to South Central Ohio.   We stayed at the State Park, which had some bare bones camping, but it was just for two nights.  We drove down after school and work, getting there just at dark.

Saturday morning we had reservations for the kids to try zip-lining at Hocking Hills Zipline Canopy Tour.  They had a great kids' course, the Dragon Fly, for just $29 each.  They were able to go through the course twice.  It starts off small, and gradually gets bigger.  They were both nervous, but loved every bit of it once they got the hang of it.

After lunch we hit the trails in the State Park.   We went through Ash Cave, Cantwell Cliffs, and Conkle's Hollow,

Charlie and Lily bought these hiking sticks at Chimney Rock State Park/Lake Lure over a Thanksgiving Holiday years ago for just $15!  It's been the best $15 spent for sure.
We were exhausted and hot by 5 pm, just as we got back to the motorhome, it started to down pour.  Showers, air condition, dinner and a movie!  Sunday morning we hiked at Old Man's Cave before heading home.

Another great weekend in the books!
